Activities done this week:IB Learner Attribute courageous was focused to teach students how to be prepared for hazardous situations.
Upcoming activities / HW: IB Learner Attribute courageous will be focused to teach students how to be prepared for hazardous situations.

Topic: Natural Hazard
Lines of Inquiry:
  • The different natural disasters
  • Reasons why hazards occur
  • The impact of hazards on the environment
  • Ways in which people cope with hazards
Activities done this week:
  • Students were introduced to LOI-4 ways in which people cope with hazards.
  • Students learnt the earthquake drill and performed FA-4 by doing the drill.
  • Students wrote about precautionary measures to be taken before the natural disasters.
  • Students learnt about backpack essentials and the after effects of hazard

Complete the worksheet given.

Activities done this week:  
Grammar:
  • Students were introduced to degrees of comparison. They changed the degrees of words given.
Writing:
  • Students practise for summative assessment to describe their writing “on the beach” using all their senses.
Listening and Speaking: Students listen and read aloud about their acrostic poems written on Natural disaster and make their own rhythm.

Upcoming activities/ HW:
  • Practise descriptive writing “on the beach” using all your five senses.
  • Refer the given to learn about adjectives:

  • An introduction to multiplication was given to the students.
  • Multiplication using repeated addition was explained and made to practise.
  • Multiplication of objects using images was practised

Weekly lesson report:   12 Date: 04th September - 07th September             Class 5A
Subject: Learner Profile            
Activities done this week: The learner profile which was followed this week was Inquirers.
They developed their natural curiosity, and acquired the skills necessary to conduct inquiry
and research to show independence in learning. They actively enjoyed learning and this love of
learning will be sustained throughout their lives.
Upcoming activities / HW: The learner profile focus for the next week will be Reflective.
Reflective people give thoughtful consideration to their own learning and personal development.
They are able to analyze their strengths and weaknesses in a constructive manner.
Subject: Unit Of Inquiry
Activities done this week:


TRANSDISCIPLINARY THEME - How the world works.
Central idea:  Energy may be converted, transformed and used to support human progress.
Lines of inquiry:
  • Different forms of energy sources (renewable and non-renewable)
  • How energy is used (transformation)
  • Sustainable energy practices


Finding Out:
  • Students drew pictures of energy transformations. This was followed by a gallery walk and
  • class discussion..
  • Students watched videos on sustainable energy practices.
  • FA-2 was conducted.
Upcoming activities/ HW:  
Imagine you live in a newly built town. You need to come up with sources of energy that can be
used to ‘energize’ this town. Explain some transformations that take place due to the available energy
sources. Keep in mind that you need to make this town sustainable. Consider the climatic conditions
and economy of the place while doing the task.

Activities done this week:
  • The students were introduced with DMAS rule of solving the problems .
  • The students were able to solve DMAS problem by themselves.
  • Introduction to Data handling was done
Upcoming activities/ HW:
 Word problem activity given to the students to be done in practise books.

Activities done this week:


Speaking: Various activities were done to strengthen speaking skills in students. Students discussed
various sources of energy and how energy must be conserved.


Reading: Students did a novel study on ‘Out of my Mind’ and empathised with the characters.


Writing: Leveled task cards were assigned to students to check their comprehension skills.
Informational writing was introduced.

Activities done this week:  تمام بچوں کو اردو قواعد صفت و موصوف لکھایا اور سمجھا کر پڑھایا گیا ۔

Passed: Grandparents Day was celebrated this week. I would like to thank the grandparents of
Hiba Fatima, Mohammed Mujtaba, Syeda Fatima, Agha Hashim, Mir Wafa Ali and Batool Zaidi
for gracing the event with their presence.
Upcoming: Summative Assessment in English, Math and languages will be held next week.
