Subject: Learner Profile            
Activities done this week:IB Learner Attribute courageous was focused to teach students how to be prepared for hazardous situations.
Upcoming activities / HW: IB Learner Attribute courageous will be focused to teach students how to be prepared for hazardous situations.

Subject: Unit Of Inquiry
Topic: Natural Hazard
Lines of Inquiry:
  • The different natural disasters
  • Reasons why hazards occur
  • The impact of hazards on the environment
  • Ways in which people cope with hazards
Activities done this week:
  • Students were introduced to LOI-3. They read the case studies of different natural disasters and completed the task sheet to find the impact of hazards on the environment.Students were able to discuss and explain about the impact of hazards on the environment.
  • Students watched a prezi on the impact of tornado on the environment and demonstrated their understanding about the prezi in their notebook.
Students were able to justify the reason and impact of hazards on the environment.
  • Students wrote the impact of each disasters separately.
  • Students prepared for FA-2 & 3.
  • Students wrote Formative Assessment 2 and 3. Students were able to explain the reason and interpreted their understanding about the impact of hazards on the environment.

Grammar:
  • Students were introduced to degree of comparison. They compared two objects and described it.
  • Students drew a scene of disaster happened in their community and described it.
Writing:
  • Students did journal writing on "What is your favourite kind of weather? Why?"
  • Students will learn about the sensory detail of descriptive writing.
Listening and Speaking: Students listen and read aloud about their acrostic poems written on Natural disaster and make their own rhythm.

  • Homework given in english grammar notebook.

  • The students were able to represent the given data in the form of  bar graph.
  • They were able to interpret the graph given and answer the questions given to them.

Notice: Dear all,
Let us join hands to help rebuild lives and homes of the people were affected by the flood in Kerala. As you all know this was a 2nd massive flood after 1924 in which more than 325 people lost their lives, 20,000 houses damages. Let us do our best by contributing more and most of the days to safe Kerala by donating money, food, utensils, foot wear, clothes, old furniture’s, first aid kits etc..
