Central idea: Understanding the culture, history and geography of where  .people live helps them value their heritage.

Concepts: Causation, Responsibility, Reflection

Lines of inquiry: Historical influence on the local culture.

.Changes in culture overtime.

. Ways in which can respect and preserve our heritage.

Activities done this week:

.Students attended a session conducted by Mr Alpesh parbatni to find out the ways in which they can preserve their heritage and monuments and how to take care of it .

.Students enhance their knowledge on the topic by making a travel brochure.

Subject Math: Students were engaged in doing word problem related to time.

Upcoming activities/ HW:Prepare for the assessment to be taken on monday in the topics calendar and Time.

Weekly Lesson report:  22 Date: 19th - 23rd Nov 2018                Class: 1B

Subject: Learner Profile            

Activities done this week: The learner profile attribute focussed this week was “reflective”
as students reflected on their learning during Summative assessment in UOI and reviewed topics done in
math and lang. Students were good “thinkers” as they identified their academic and personal goals.

Upcoming activities / HW:

Subject: Unit Of Inquiry

Lines of Inquiry:

• what constitutes a home
• how  homes differ from one region to another
• materials used in housing construction

Activities done this week:  

Summative Assessment done in which students prepared their choice of home with the given
material and presented their understanding of the type of material used and suitable conditions
for their choice of materials.

Children identified their academic and personal goals and completed the goals sheet

“The Gingerbread man” was read aloud to students and students read along followed by

brainstorming on ways to escape in times of emergency and hence got closer to the idea of

our next topic “Transport”

• Measurement of weight done using Weight balance to understand 1000g = 1Kg.
• Comparison of heavy and light objects done in notebooks.

Revision of sight words and spell drill done.

Descriptive writing done (describing popcorn using senses and in the form of sentences)

Recap of verbs, jumbled sentences, and articles done.

Karadipath - students learned new action commands, spoken commands, rhyme “one heart, two heart,

three heart, four”  from the story “Monkey and Crocodile” session 31.

Activities done this week: Students were done summative assessment

they choose different materials to make the models of different homes.

Students listen to the story of “The gingerbread man”

Activities done this week: Students compared the numbers using sign <, > or =.

Students were weight the different objects in kg and grams using the

weighing machine to complete the worksheet.

Students practice the odd and even numbers and skip counting in the worksheet.

Upcoming activities/ HW:  HW given in worksheet.

Subject: English

Activities done this week: Students were described “Banana and Elephant”

in descriptive writing in their notebook. Students wrote the sight words

they learned in spell drill. Students revise the topics articles, verbs and

jumbled sentences. Karadi path: They able to execute spoken and

action commands, followed by activity in Karadi path session 26 and 27.
