The learner profile which was followed
this week was Inquirers. They developed
their natural curiosity, and acquired the
skills necessary to conduct inquiry and
research to show independence in learning.
They actively enjoyed learning and this love of learning will be sustained throughout their lives.
Upcoming activities / HW:
The learner profile which will be followed
next week will be Thinker. Thinkers exercise
initiative in applying thinking skills critically and creatively to recognize and approach complex problems, and make reasoned, ethical decisions.
Subject: Unit Of Inquiry
Activities done this week:
TRANSDISCIPLINARY THEME - How we organise ourselves.
Central idea: Government systems influence the lives of citizens.
Lines of inquiry:
- How government systems function
- How decision-making practices reflect human rights
- Impact of government on citizens
- The rights and responsibilities of citizenship
Tuning In
- Students read a book and answered questions based on different types of government.
This was followed by a class discussion.
- Students gained an understanding of the different types of government.
- Students sorted out advantages and disadvantages of different types of government.
- Formative Assessment was conducted.

Do an inquiry on each type government in detail with three examples for each type.

Activities done this week:
Speaking: Various activities were done to strengthen speaking
skills in students. Students discussed various qualities of a good
leader and how they must be used.
Reading: Students did a novel study on ‘Out of my Mind’ and
empathised with the characters. Students did a Role play based on the story.
Viewing and Presenting: Students learned new words related to the topic and enacted in front of the class. This was guessed by their peers.
Writing: Students wrote a journal entry. Leveled task cards were assigned to students to check their comprehension skills.
