Central Idea: Development of means of transport changed the ability of humans to move about

Lines of Inquiry:

·         means of transportation( on land, in air, in water)

·         importance of transportation in our life

·         development of the forms of transportation means through time

Activities done this week:

• Students posted pictures of means of transport under the appropriate mode of transport
• Mindmap of modes of transport done in the notebook
• Children related means of transport to their purpose and to infer the importance of transport in our life

Activities done this week:

Students carried out backward counting while passing the parcel, as they picked up a bead from a basket of beads

students illustrated the operation of subtraction with answers of 10 or less by using beads or icecream sticks

Children used their fingers to subtract given problem and come up with answers

Number line hands-on activities and related activities done in Firefly

Activities done this week:  

• Students identified the need of pronouns through the story “lion and rabbit” which had repeated use of a noun.
• Students played a game using flash cards with pronoun and pointed towards the noun which could be replaced with the pronoun card they got
• Definition and examples of pronoun written in the notebook
• Picture reading was done and students made simple sentences first using a noun and then using pronouns
• Students choose their favorite pronoun and wrote sentences with it
