Subject: Learner Profile  

Activities done this week: As the inquiry is in the finding out stage, the learner profile attribute  ‘Inquirer’ was mainly focussed this week.

Upcoming activities / HW:The learner profile attribute  ‘Communicator’ will be focussed next week.

• When working on mathematics homework, encourage your child to explain his/her answer to you orally.
• Ask your child thought provoking questions and encourage them to discuss them with you. For example:

What would you do if you were scared of someone at school?

Is there anything you cannot buy with money?

Theme: How we express ourselves

Central idea: A variety of signs and symbols facilitates local and global communication

Concepts: form, function, connection

Lines of inquiry:

• Signs and symbols
• Reasons for the development of communication systems
• Specialised systems of communication

Activities done this week: Students  were introduced to the types of communication.They learned and understand the meaning of communication and wrote in notebook.

Students learned different types of communication and understood the meaning of each.

Students did an activity on information about signs, they identified the signs and matched it with the correct sentence.

Upcoming activities/ HW:Worksheet given in signs and symbols.

Formative Assessment will be conducted on first line of inquiry.

Activities done this week:Students learned new words from the list of given words.

Students were introduced to rebus writing.

Students identified the noun in the given sentence.

Students were able to differentiate between common and proper noun.
