Subject: Learner’s Profile

Activities done this week          

The LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTE that was explained this week was being BALANCED. It means to do things in correct proportion. It was great to see the children being little inquirers putting on their thinking caps by identifying their needs and wants and also getting enthusiasm to find out more about their new topic ECONOMICS and its terminology. They even reflected and tried to buy only the things that they need.

Upcoming activities / HW:

It was great pleasure to see the  students enjoying the activities in class. The  LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTE that we will be focussing next week is being BALANCED. Activities done this week:

THEME:-   How we organize ourselves.

TOPIC:-  Economics

CENTRAL IDEA:-  Economic activity relies on systems of production, exchange and consumption of goods and services.

LINES OF INQUIRY:-

1. The role of supply and demand - Function(How does it work?)
2. The relationship between location & settlement - Connection(How is it connected to other things?)
3. Our responsibility as a consumer - Responsibility(What is our responsibility?)

LEARNING ENGAGEMENTS:

Going further:-

1. Students learnt about the process(survey of school community)for the most demanded goods and services through hands on experience(Fun-Fair Mela).                                             
2. For deeper understanding and ingraining the knowledge consumers rights and responsibilities was done through role-play..    
3. Students reflected on the topic through the reflection sheet.

1. Inquiry work sent for consumer rights and responsibilities.
2. Profit and loss(integration) work sent.
3. Prepared for Fun-Fair Mela.

LARGE NUMBERS:-

1. Learnt 2 & 3 times tables and did quiz on it.
2. Mental math with Ten Quick Questions.

ROMAN NUMBERS:-

1. Introduction with video and examples.

DATA HANDLING:-

1.  Students practiced tally marks, pictographs and bar graphs and learned to interpret and answer the questions given(in integration through the UOI topic)

PROFIT & LOSS:-(IN INTEGRATION TO UOI TOPIC)

1. Introduction to the terms Cost price, selling price, profit, loss.

1. Misspelt words activity with UOI vocabulary words done.
2. Sight word spell quiz done.
