C5B Weekly Lesson Report

Weekly lesson report:   05 Date:9th - 13th July 2018                        Class: 5B


Subject: Learner Profile            
Activities done this week:
The learner profile focus for this week was Open Minded. Students understood and appreciated their own cultures and personal histories, and were open to the perspectives, values and traditions of other individuals and communities.


Upcoming activities / HW:


The learner profile focus for the next week will be Reflective. Reflective people give thoughtful consideration to their own learning and personal development. They are able to analyze their strengths and weaknesses in a constructive manner.

Subject: Unit Of Inquiry
Activities done this week:


TRANSDISCIPLINARY THEME - Where we are in place and time.


Central idea:  Human migration is a response to challenges, risks and opportunities.


Lines of inquiry:
  • The reasons why people migrate
  • Migration throughout history
  • Effects of migration on communities, cultures and individual.


Going Further:
  • Students gained an understanding of Brain Drain which was followed by a class discussion.
  • Students wrote a journal entry on where they would like to migrate and why.
  • Students did a Circle of viewpoint activity in understanding migration from different perspectives.
  • Students listed out advantages and disadvantages of brain drain.

Taking ideas from the above weblinks, do an inquiry into brain drain.

Subject: Math
Activities done this week:  Students were able to plot the co-ordinates on the graph sheet. The four operations of Math in daily life were made to practised. Students were also made to play Quiz on Multiplication Tables.

Subject: English
Activities done this week:  
Speaking:
Various activities were done to strengthen speaking skills in students. Students discussed stories of family members who migrated to or from India.


Listening:
Students listened to a story ‘Henry and Mudge and the long weekend’ and shared details of their own weekend with peers.


Writing:
Students did a comprehension passage on Migration.
Students wrote a journal entry about an imaginative incidence.

Activities done this week: “ مہاجر نامہ “ کے اشعار کا اختبار ہوا  ۲۰ اشعار کو زبانی یاد کرایا گیا اور اسے پیش کیا گیا
" حمد " باری تعالیٰ کو یاد کرایا گیا اور محترم والدین کے سامنے پیش کیا گیا ۔ بہت جلد یو ٹیوب کے ذریعہ والدین تک پہنچ جائے گا
Upcoming activities/ HW:  ہندی اور مشاعرہ کی تیاری کریں تمام اشعار کو پر اعتمادی کو ساتھ یاد کریں تاکہ مشاعرہ میں شرمندگی نہ ہو۔

Activities done this week:  Student wrote gunintaalu.
Students wrote and read the two and thee letters in telugu. They practiced the Telugu song for telugu day.
