Activities done this week:IB Learner Attribute Thinker was focused to enhance
thinking skill about the application of principles in machines.
Upcoming activities / HW: IB Learner Attribute thinker would be focused
to develop thinking skills.

Topic: Simple Machine
Lines of Inquiry:
  • The principles and types of simple and compound machines
  • Inventions which use the principles of simple machines.
  • The application of simple machines in our lives

Activities done this week:
  • Students wrote their summative assessments
  • Students wrote notes on types of pulleys along their diagrams.
  • Students were explained the types of pulleys with real life examples.
  • Students revised for their formative assessment.
  • Students wrote the reflection sheet for unit SIMPLE MACHINE for the field
            trip to Birla Science Museum.

Prepare for Formative Assessment for LOI 2 and LOI 3 on Monday.

Subject: Learner’s Profile
Activities done this week          
The LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTE that was explained this week was being COURAGEOUS.
It means to be brave and confident to learn new things. It was a great to see the children being
little inquirers putting on their thinking caps by  by learning about the biomes of the animals, understanding the characteristics of the biomes, and also getting enthusiastic to find out more
about their topic Adaptation. They even reflected their action and its consequences towards their environment.
Upcoming activities / HW:
It was a great pleasure to see the students enjoying the activities in class. The LEARNER
PROFILE ATTRIBUTE that was explained this week was being COURAGEOUS. It means to be brave and confident to learn new things. It was great to see the children being little inquirers putting on their thinking caps by making the flow chart of the new them, classifying and grouping animals on their own understanding, and also getting enthusiastic to find out more about their new topic Adaptation. They even reflected their action and its consequences towards their environment.
Please help them in their work. Thank you!

TOPIC:-  Adaptation
CENTRAL IDEA:-   Living things are affected by and adapt to the natural world.
LINES OF INQUIRY:-  
  1. Characteristics of the major habitats/biomes.(Forms=> How is it like?)
  2. Physical adaptations and behavioral adaptations that allow an animal to survive in their biome. (Causation=>Why is it like it is?)
  3. Connection between animals and the people in those habitats.(Connection=>How is it connected to other things?)
LEARNING ENGAGEMENTS:
Explore:-
  1. Students revised about  the different biomes and their characteristics LOI-1.
  2. Students learned to identify and understand about the physical and behavioral features that helps an animal to survive in that particular biome, saw videos…….. and wrote notes in their books - LOI-2.
  1. Students moved ahead and did inquiry on the physical and behavioral features of different animals.
  2. Students revised LOI-2.

  1. Inquiry on animals with Physical and Behavior adaptation.
  2. Vocab journals to be made.

  1. Learnt 3 & 4 times tables and did a quiz on it.
  2. Mental math with Ten Quick Questions.

  1. Students started with addition of 10’s in horizontal position.
MEASUREMENT:-
  1. Conversion table for length.
  2. Practice sums for conversion of mts to cms.
