Central idea: Human migration is a response to challenges, risks and opportunities.

- Migration throughout history
- Effects of migration on communities, cultures and individual.
Making Connections:
- Students participated in a class debate and stood by their opinion regarding Uniforms
- being mandatory in School.
- Students wrote a Summative Assessment on Migration.
- Students went through the process of debate in detail and had a strong rebuttal.
- They put forward convincing points and reasonable arguments with their opponents.

Activities done this week: Students were able to find the approximate value of numbers
without solving them but by doing it mentally. An introduction to Multiplication was given and it was
made clear that repeated addition results to multiplication. Problems based on repeated addition
was made to practise.

Speaking:
Various activities were done to strengthen speaking skills in students. Students discussed stories of
family members who migrated to or from India. Students learned pronunciation techniques and how
common words are pronounced.

Students did a novel study on ‘Out of my Mind’ and empathised with the characters.
Writing:
Students did a comprehension passage on Migration.
Students wrote a journal entry about an imaginative incidence.
Persuasive Writing was introduced. Persuasive words and Sentence starters were discussed
which would give meaning and structure to an essay.

Parts of speech was discussed further. Students gained an understanding of nouns.
