Subject: Learner Profile
Activities done this week: The learner profiles focussed upon this week were “open-minded” as we celebrated Diwali and “inquirers”as students learned about several homes through videos and by visiting Shilparamam.
Upcoming activities/ HW: Ask your child about the different types of homes they learned about and the materials they are made up of and the factors due to which homes differ.
Central idea:
People build homes in different places and different ways.
Line of inquiry: What constitutes home.
How homes differ from one region to other.
Materials used in housing construction.
Activities done this week:
- Students shared the inquiry they carried out as homework with their friends, about the type of home, material used, advantage and disadvantage of the same
- Students had identified the reasons as to why homes differ from each other and wrote it in their notebooks and also matched a type of house with the region where is found
- Formative assessment 2 done on types of houses and related conditions
- Students watched interior videos of caravan, boat house, tree house and bamboo house
- Field trip to Shilparamam to learn about the material used in different homes and reasons for choice of material

Subject: Math
Activities done this week:
Students learned about the different 3D shapes and matched them with the 2D shape they resemble
Children explored 3D shapes and identified their properties by pasting clay to corners, edges and faces and wrote them in their notebooks
They drew 2D and 3D shapes and pasted them on chart.
Upcoming activities/ HW : Draw / paste real life objects related to different 3D shapes in notebook

Activities done this week:
Introduction of digraphs done by recognising the things that begin with digraphs
Students wrote 5 different diagraphs in their notebooks and
A short digraph passage done in notebook
Karadipath : Students learned new action commands, spoken commands, rhyme “to the beach I like to go”, read sight words and did drama practice from story “Monkey and Crocodile” session 27 and 28.
