application of principles in machines.

Topic: Simple Machine

Lines of Inquiry:

• The principles and types of simple and compound machines
• Inventions which use the principles of simple machines.
• The application of simple machines in our lives

Activities done this week:

Students wrote the notes for types of lever.

Students wrote the notes for types of pulleys.

Students wrote notes for inventions which uses the principles of simple

machines.

Students saw the videos of rube goldberg's machines and its working and

understand the application of simple machines in our lives and wrote the

working of Rube goldBerg's on the charts.

Students revised to prepare themselves for their formative assessment.

• Students were made to practice on measuring of angles using protractor.
• Proper method and instructions were given for usage of protractor.
• Students practiced drawing of angles of different degrees.

Reading Students read chapter three in Charlotte’s Web.

Writing: Students continued to learn about formal and informal letters.

Activities did this week: The learner profile attributes we focused this week are an inquirer and open-minded as we are in our learning of the unit “Stories”. The students also focused on the attribute of being Reflective as they have written their assessments.

Activities did this week: The students reflected and analyzed their own emotions and experiences and expressed them in a form of a short story as a follow-up activity. The students learned the various parts of a book and did a follow-up worksheet for the same concept.

They were also enthusiastically involved in story build-up activity using their imagination to create a story of their own.

Activities did this week: The students were involved in a thorough recapitulation of numbers 50-100, comparison of numbers, before and after numbers and place value of numbers 50-100 using different strategies and revision work is done in notebooks. Term 2 assessment was conducted.

TOPIC:- Animals are friends

CENTRAL IDEA:-  Animals and people interact in different ways in different contexts.

LINES OF INQUIRY:-

● The different roles animals play in people's lives

● Suitability of particular animals for specific functions.

●Our responsibility for the well being of animals.

Activities done this week: Students did TUNING IN activity by nature walk

and followed by activity sheet and also listen to the audio of sounds of animals.

Activities done this week: Recapitulation of letter “Aa - Tt” was done

with related objects, Introduction of letter Uu  identification and different task

activities and  by written work in Firefly . Recapitulation of two letter words

and CVC words was also done.

Upcoming activities/ HW: Letter Vv will be

introduced with related hand on activities followed by

written work in Firefly. Please help your child to

complete the revision worksheet.

                 

Subject: Math

Activities done this week: Recapitulation of numbers 1- 40 in

sequence was done. Written practice numbers from

1 - 30 with place values through different number

activities in the number book. Recapitulation of all pre mathematical

concepts was done .

Activities done this week: Students improve their drawing and drew

different objects by using letters and numbers.
