Theme: How the world works

Title: Air

Central idea: understanding the properties of air allows people to make

practical applications.

Concepts: form, connection, reflection

Lines of inquiry:  

·         The evidence of the existence of air

·         What air can do and how we use it

·         The relationship between air, light and  sound

Activities done this week: Students watched videos related to air, did experiment

to find out air has weight and air occupies space.

Upcoming activities/ HW: Find out the uses of air.

Subject: Math

Activities done this week: Students were given practice for subtraction and

other concepts for assessment.

Upcoming activities/ HW: Revise all the concepts well for assessment.

Listening & Speaking: Students listened to the stories

in the read aloud sessions.

Reading: Read self selected stories in magic pot and story books.

Writing: Students were given practice for assessment, did picture

comprehension and demonstrated their understanding in summative

assessment 2.

Central Idea: Development of means of transport changed the

ability of humans to move about

Lines of Inquiry:

• means of transportation( on land, in air, in water)
• importance of transportation in our life
• development of the forms of transportation means through time

Activities done this week:

Students sort out the  pictures of means of transport and pasted

under an appropriate mode of transport

Students create a mind map of modes of transport in a notebook

students related means of transport to their purpose

and understand the importance of transport in our life

Students recall backward counting while passing the parcel,

as they picked up the pencils from a basket.

Students understand the concept of subtraction using various objects

Activities done this week: Students were Knowledgeable this week. They developed and used conceptual understanding and explored knowledge across a range of disciplines. Students engaged with issues and ideas that have local and global significance.

Upcoming activities / HW: Students will be Inquirer next week. They will develop their natural curiosity, and acquire the skills necessary to conduct inquiry and research to show independence in learning. They actively enjoy learning and this love of learning will be sustained throughout their lives.

• Students identified each organ and how they contribute towards the smooth functioning of a system.
• Just-A-Minute (JAM) session was conducted.
• Students studied the Respiratory, Circulatory and skeletal system in detail.
• Students were given worksheets on each system as a follow up activity.

Upcoming activities/ HW:  Please complete the cloze (fill in the blanks) and solve the crossword puzzle related to the given systems.
